Surviving Kids Parties

The children's party scene has certainly come along way over the years.

Parents no longer happy with the cheaper birthday option at their local fast food restaurant, are now more than ever hosting mega parties for their kids, with planning and preparation to rival most weddings.
With more entertainment options available to parents these days, the decision of 'what to have' at your child's party is now made easier, or complicated whichever way you look at it.

The choices range from Clowns, jumping castles, animal farms, and face painters just to name a few and all these at one party. If your child is in childcare, Prep or at School then be prepared to be invited to all of their class mates birthdays throughout the year.
This can be a logistic nightmare juggling multiple parties on a single weekend.

Here are 5 Top Survival Tips when hosting you child's birthday party.

Planning the party - These days' parties can be booked months in advance, to save any disappointment when it comes to the party entertainment.

Choose a date preferably close to your child's birthday, the weekend before or afterwards normally works well. Then decide on a suitable time to have the party.

Mornings and afternoons are very popular as you can get away with light snacks for all the party guests. Plan on 2-3 hours for the duration of the party.
You may also choose to have a themed party, like a circus party, pirate party or even a fairy party. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).

push({}); Invitations - Don't leave sending your invitations to the last minute, allow 3-5weeks minimum so your guests can plan ahead and book you in their social calendar.
Entertainment - It is always important to allow 4-5 week's notice when booking children's entertainment throughout the year.
Christmas time is always the peak season for children's entertainers as they have to factor in the Christmas party bookings.

In this period allow 6-8 weeks when making a booking, this will help you in getting the date and time you require. If you plan a 2 hour party, then have your entertainment arrive 30 minutes after it starts.
This will allow enough time for the meet and greet and for all the invited guests to arrive. The PARTY - If your party is at home, a helpful hint is to tie balloons to your letterbox to make it easier for parents and the entertainers to locate your house. If your party is a local park, always have a backup plan just in case the weather turns nasty. Remember the party is all about celebrating your child's milestone and for them to have as much fun with all their friends, whilst creating life long memories.
HAVE FUN!!! and take plenty of photos and video footage.
